Topic invention

I am writing my hypertext about judgmental peers and the victims of their criticism.  This is an issue that dominated my life for a good portion of my high school career. Although it is no longer an issue in my life, the feeling of being judged and affected by my peers is a major part of my past and has therefore had an impact on who I am today. Many people are affected by this issue other than these two groups. The first group of people is the parents of the children who are being judged. Whether the child is being judged for their race, religion, looks, or interests, it is extremely painful for a parent to see this happen to their child. It is also hard to have hopes and expectations for your child and have them held back by external influences. The second group is teachers. Because many of these issues happen in the school environment, teachers are often the ones who have to deal with these conflicts. They see first hand what goes on in the classroom and how the students treat each other. Counselors are another category of people because they are the people that students go to or are sent to by teachers when they are having problems with other students. They hear the story from the student’s point of view and are supposed to help solve the problems. One of the sub topics from the judgmental peers is the media and the stereotypes that they elicit. The reason that these kids are being judgmental is because they are getting the ideas from TV and movies and celebrities. Peer pressure from students is another issue. If one “popular” kid is judgmental or mean to a student, there are usually other students who will acquire the same mind set whether they believe it is true or not.
