My text is readable and text font is not too boring.
My site has a cool color scheme that is NOT ugly.
My links are obviously a different color and are underlined.
Content is blatantly organized.
However,
There are videos that take a while to upload
My index page has flashing graphics that may cause seizures.
My navigation is not the most convenient because I am not technilogically sound enough to make a drop down navigation bar.
What I learned:
Maybe create a menu bar along the side if i have enough info.
Placeholder text in your readings
It's quick scanning reading,not in depth so make sure your information reiterates the main ideas
Peopl read too quickly when going on websites so don't stress yourself about putting in depth thoguht and detail into your writing
Put all important ideas at top and towards the left (F-reading)
Information carrying words are crucial
Low literacy people don't read things the same way that we do, they look ate everything word by word on a website, causing them to be majorly distracted by everything that's going on.

ReplyDeletemy questions for peer editing are :
1) Does it relate? Yes, I think you do a good job of gathering information and also putting a personal touch on it.
2) Is it concise? I like that fact that your page isn't text heavy. All the text is in that one small box. I think this helpful so people don't blow off all your text.
3) Is it aesthetically pleasing? I really like the blue background it's pretty sweeet.
4) Is it easy to navigate? I really like the use of the buttons. I think you could link without your writing a little bit more.

Your general theme and topic is conveyed quickly after a few minutes which is good because the readers can tell what they are in for with out having to go search for it. Also, your site is very organized and it is very efficiently laid out. The general design fits the topic well and it is a fun site to browse through. It is good that your navigation bar is the same on every page, so the reader can access all parts of the site no matter where the are. The text is also easy to scan, which is important because readers aren't going to spend a lot of time reading word for word. The pictures are used appropriately and match the theme well. I think you could have possibly used some links within your text so the reader coudld have more options to get through all pages of the site. Other than that, very good job.
ReplyDeleteYour site is clear and easy to read, there is not too much text on the pages and I would be willing to read it all. The videos loaded at an appropriate speed so don’t worry about that. There is one image that does not show up on the experimentation page so you might want to check that. Sometimes I get a little lost in the links, they seem to go to level 4 or 5. Not all of your links out of the site work, so check your URL’s. The background is interesting but does not over do it. The text is easily read. Navigation is simple but get a little confusing a site map would be useful. Everything has a purpose and there is no excess stuff on the page. The topic is very clear.

This website has great aesthetic value. The topic is easy to determine and the art and color choice are obviously connected to the topic making the whole website flow. The site has clear and easy navigation. It is easy to find everything on the site. The large chunks of text are a little overwhelming and don't make readers want to go further into the topic.
ReplyDeletemike your website is really good in all aspects and i dont really have much to criticize. if i were to criticize something i would say that the links should be more emphasized that aren't in the navigation bar. other than that its a great website.
ReplyDeleteYour website is really nice, I like the way it looks and there is not too much scrolling going on. The pictures tell the story of the page and keeps you intrested. I think that its really text heavy so you could break it up a little more but i think that its also fine the way it is, so its all good.
