Why My Website Doesn't Suck

  • People can tell the purpose of my website within a few seconds of looking at it
  • My headings and texts are all the same size
  • My site is clearly organized and easy to navigate

Why My Site Sucks

  • My site doesn't have a lot of graphics, and is a little boring
  • The logo of my site isn't on every page
  • My video link doesn't work all the time on the browsers
  • My site is very plain and not too exciting looking.

Ideas how to re-design/fix my website

  • If more than 8 header pages, organize them into 3-4 main pages with links going off of them
  • Have a stable and consistent header and footer
  • Don't have big chunks of paragraphs because people tend to read them less fully
  • Highlight/underline important text
  • incorporate "evetracking"--where people read at the top first horizontally, and the vertical content on the left
  • the 1st and 2nd paragraph should contain the most important information so people will be sure to read them

    SUCH A GOOD SITE. Love the idea, informing people of a nasty habit! I love the cleanliness of your page. There's nothing really to distract viewers! It is also very efficient that your menu bar remains in the exact same place the entire time. I just skimmed your text but it was concise yet informative.

    I think that on the Youth Smoking links you should try to put some sort of back button leading to the original Youth Smoking page. I mean I have no clue how to do it but you're good at this website stuff!

    Other than that, i LOVED it! I really like how you added your own ideas and opinions.

    ROOMIE!!!!!

    First off, I love the layout of your webpage. The tabs are really cool and make me want to click on all of them. I like how you have multi media as well its an added touch that gives the reader a break from text. Your homepage does a good job of organzing your website. I know exactly where to go at all times. I really like the statistics that you have along with the pictures. Good work!

    1. Is navigation easy?
    navigation is easy and your bar is attractive and easy to locate.
    2. Can you spend less than 5 seconds on each page and still comprehend the purpose/information?
    yes, your information is precise and to the point and 5 seconds is enough time to understand what you are trying to say
    3. Are keywords/point highlighted?
    no, keywords and points are not highlighted. by adding a few bolded or underlines words the reader would be able to understand the general ideas without reading entire paragraphs or sentences
    4. Is the website visually stimulating and do the images work?
    the black and white works with your topic and the videos and images compliment your info...maybe make the images all black and white to go along with the general theme of the site....the text you selected is also very cool
    5. Are there logical categories with the information within the categories making sense?
    the categories make sense but if you are adding more information be sure to organize thoughts/topics

    i liked the website i thought the point and reason for the website was evident and it was well organized

    -very good use of the tabs at top
    -very organized and simple
    -aligned nicely
    -informative
    -sufficient amount of info on each page (one does not need to scroll up or down in the window)
    -the "font image" you chose to incorporate the title of each of your pages fits very well
    - Overall, very well done. More information would be just fine just don't over do it. Some more pictures and/or videos might add to emphasizing your point as well.

    The website is appealing to the eye because of the use of colors and pictures you use. The font is easy to read because of the colors of the background and font you chose. There isnt any blank space because you filled it in wit pictures. Having small chunks of paragraphs and bullets makes it easier for the reader to understand what you are trying to say.

    Good things:
    - Website is visually appealing
    - very organized and I like the consistency from page to page
    -different media is interesting, with quotes and various links

    Things to improve:
    -the tabs dont' say much about what is on that page
    - try to draw reader in more with bolded important words or something
    - links in text
