Little Brother at Santa Clara

Me: The journey from Swig to Benson has increased by five minutes since freshman year!
Annie: What do you mean, they are in exactly the same spots.
Me: Obviously they are in the same spots Annie, but have you been over to that side of campus lately? You literally have to swip your access card in three seperate locations, walk through two metal detectors, and empty your bags and pockets before taking the elevator in both buildings. You would think you were gaining access to a CIA building not a dining hall.
Annie: That's ridiculous, you would think that the administration would have found better outlets for the 50 grand in tuition we pay each yeah.
Me: I think we both know that regardless of the administration, useless and expensive items like metal detectors every 20 yeards are bound to use our tuition money.
Annie: Yeah, but why metal detectors and not security guards?
Me: It's the 2013, man power and effort have been replaced by computers and energy.
Annie: Ah, of course. Simpler times...
Me: SIMPLER TIMES! Are you serious?
