This is my website...
For my redesign I worked mostly on the color theme and headings of my pages. I first changed the color scheme of my site to something I felt fit the mood of the overall site. I used a lot of different sites for both help and inspiration during my redesign. One that was particularly helpful in choosing a color scheme was Viget. Although my color scheme isn't at all similar to this site, I really felt like their scheme fit the mood of the site well and that was one of my biggest goals in my redesign. After I worked on this facet of my redesign I turned to the aesthetics of my headings. I changed the headings and titles about 12 times before I found the "Embossed" titles on from CoolText. I also used FontBurner to add some commentary to my page on the Guatemala City dump. I felt this was a good one because not only did it fit my color scheme but went with the theme of my page. During my redesign I was looking at Twitter for ideas on how to set up my page, which is when I had the idea to include a Twitter account in my page. I thought this was a little different and was something that could give my page a more hands on feel. I felt this was an easy way for people interested in the possible Guatemala Immersion program to not only contact me, but receive quick updates on how the process of adding a trip is going. I decided to keep the navigation of my page on the left hand side, rather than the right or the top, because I felt it used the space on my page better and allowed me to spread out the pictures on my website across the pages without it being too long of a page. Lastly, I never used it but learned alot from Type Chart.
