This webpage was the first webpage I have ever made, and I really enjoyed being introduced to the Dreamweaver program and designing my own webpage about sailing. I have been sailing my whole life so this was a fun webpage to make. I first laid out my webpage on a piece of paper and figured out which topics I will use as links. After I finished laying it out, I redesigned it to make my writing less broad and more specific to the bay area. After I did this, my site still seemed too broad. I redesigned it again to make it more specific to youth sailors and opportunities they have around the bay area. I have been participating in youth sailing the in the bay area for the last 10 years so I enjoyed writing about the different experience other sailors could have. Once I finished writing, I started uploading and designing my pages on Dreamweaver. In the beginning, I chose a turquoise background color for all of my pages, to symbolize the color of water, and I chose to use papyrus as my font as a relaxing yet bold title. I later looked on sites like grsites.com and visibone.com to help me look at colors and different background designs. I also looked at the sites: 10 unusual places to get design inspiration, and 20 fresh and new design galleries. Both of these sites helped me think of how to arrange my pictures on the page and pick colors and designs that look good. Finally, I chose the types of fonts that I wanted for my pages. I used grsites.com and flippingtypical.com to decide which types of fonts I wanted to use and which ones would look best with my pages and colors. I chose fonts that were bigger and ones that looked more relaxed. I have enjoyed making this webpage and feel I have learned alot, and created a well informed website about junior sailing.
