My Redesign

I wanted my website to have a clean, organized feel to it, so i tried to keep all the text homogeneous for the most part and keep the text orderly. I honestly didn’t re-design too much after my initial plan of action because I spent so much time planning and organizing the layout from the get-go that I was already set and had it all planned out how I wanted it to look. The only set back, and thing that kept me from being able to make it look more so how I wanted it to was my inability to figure out InDesign in the short period of time we had for this project. I would have liked my website to look more modern and complex, but I only have basic knowledge of the Dreamweaver program so it was difficult to make it more intricate and elaborate. The images I picked mostly incorporated with my text and what I was talking about. On my homepage I chose an aerial picture of the UCSB campus because I thought it displayed a good quality image of what the overall campus looks like, and really highlighted the beauty of the campus as well. This way when the reader first comes to my website they will see a nice picture of UCSB instead of a boring picture of the logo or something. Some of the pictures in the “Personal Experience” section are a few of my actual pictures from when I was at the UCSB Summer Discovery Program, so they reflect and are supposed to illustrate the fun times I had while I was there. I hoped that this would show the reader into my own personal connection to the program and for them to see real picture of people who were at the program and stuff we did while at UCSB. I chose the font “Badaboom” on a font generator website because I thought it was a clean, yet modern and fun font to use for headings on my website. I also chose Adobe Caslon Pro as my main text because I thought it was similar enough to Time New Roman, but different enough that it stood out more than the typical font, whilst adding to the clean and organized feel the website has going.
