Once you have set your mind to something, it is very difficult to accept change. I liked the simplicity of my website: I mean come on, my first website should not be something Bill Gates could whip out in a couple hours, so I was proud. However, I recognized it may have been a little too systematic, it may have possessed a little too predictable of a layout pattern, and it may not have been as snazzy as I would have preferred it to be. After looking through some of the webpage’s that have been recognized for their originality and creativity, I was inspired to alter my first attempt at a website. One of the qualities I discovered I personally enjoyed when browsing a webpage is the personal connection a blog link provides. Not only can you relate to an actual person’s experiences but also you are able to vicariously live through their actions…for better and worse. This particular blog allows you to interact with other webpage makers and discuss positive and negative attributes of an alluring hypertext. This blog discussed the recent come back of left-aligned webpage’s, which I thought about trying but was unable to break my preferred symmetrical appearance. I really liked the visual appearance of this website’s text. The black background with the white text that also included an accent color was immediately atheistically appealing to my eyes. I was challenged to choose colors I thought would immediately draw focus to keywords on my personal website. For me personally, I found this specific font generator easy to navigate and also this generator provided ample options to choose a unique style of font. After pursuing through some web blogs and reflections of classmates, I came upon a site that allowed you to change the shape and color of different buttons for your website. This particular site exemplifies a goal I would like to achieve for one of my upcoming sites; the use of color and different placement of links. I would also be interested to use and create a search engine within one of my up and coming websites as this site utilized in the bottom right hand corner. Overall, my first website making experience has been one in which I have learned lots, experienced multiple frustrations, and ultimately have felt proud and accomplished with my outcome.
