The Escape is a scene from “Little Brother” by Cory Doctorow. It is a graphic-novel interpretation of when Marcus and Darryl distract Charles by destroying his phone while they escape from school. I think the avatars are representative of the personalities of these three characters in the novel. Marcus’ power and overconfidence is shown in the suit and Charles looks like a classic dim-witted bully. The scene is in a school with a clock and window that has blinds which almost look like bars. I thought the bars on the windows were foreshadowing of when Marcus goes to jail in the next chapter.
