I wanted to write something from Darryl's point of view. I mean, while Marcus was off fighting against the DHS, being a hero/leader, Darryl during all that time was stuck on the island as a prisoner. What did he think, and feel, during his imprisonment?

It must have felt horrible, the hopelessness of his situation. You can probably tell that I really dislike severe haircut woman because she appears once again in one of my fanfics.

I really just wanted to write about how Darryl was coping. It was pretty interesting writing from his point of view.

I also wanted to touch on the hurt of his family (namely, his dad), while he was gone. I mean, it must have felt like SO BAD to think that your only son has died in a terrorist attack. I have a friend whose dad disappeared in the 911 bombings. I can't even describe the pain she must have felt. And I don't think the book concentrated that much on the pain of the ones left behind. People DIED during the attack, but Marcus didn't seem to focus a lot on that.
