My comic gives a satirical “How-to” guide to achieving romance how Marcus does in the book. Marcus’ “attempts” at romance become increasingly painful and mostly just sad in chapters 10-15. This comic draws on images from popular media (The Bachelor (1999), American Pie (1999), and South Park), which depict parallels to the failures Marcus makes. Miraculously though, all of Marcus’ lack of social awareness and any sort of tact is overshadowed by overall strangeness of his relationship with Ange. The text bubbles give a synopsized and dramatized version of what is happening in each scene depicted in the comic.
