Research Topic

For my research topic, I would like to focus on the control the government has over its people. People such as those in the book “Little Brother” were scared of the government because of what they have done to them. The leaders of the nation are the ones with the power to do whatever they want and to sensor what they want their people listening to. This is why I am focusing my research more in depth on the control over school curriculum. People today are being forced to obey the rules of the government and learn what they want you to learn. The leaders of today are changing what children learn because of either hiding the truth or they just do not want them to learn it. The question that was raised in the book was whether the government should be changing the textbooks in order for the students to be controlled. Cory Doctorow answers this question by showing Marcus going against this censorship and speaking out against it. This links to the laws and regulations for America and how we are all tested in our knowledge and we all need to learn everything, the good and the bad.
