The Power of the Slanted Pen - Marie Galetto

The concept for this comic came from the theme in the book concerning the media. It shows how someone can do or say something with perfectly good intentions and that the media has the power to slant it any way they like. This is especially dangerous in a culture where people have grown accustomed to taking in information from media sources without doubting its credibility. I took this concept and applied it to President Kennedy’s inaugural address because it is a famous and inspirational speech that almost any American recognizes. I picked such a famous speech because it is seen by most as a quintessentially American speech and turning it into something un-American seems strange to almost anyone.
